mindset

Last week we went through the steps of identifying your goals and making a clear plan. This week we will focus on mindset. Achieving your goals without focusing on your mindset is like thinking you’re going to out-train a bad diet. It may work for a short time but it certainly won’t work forever.

Not sure what we mean when we refer to mindset?

There are two types of mindset
one of growth + one that is fixed.

In order to make forward progress you need to have a mindset that is geared towards growth.

Ever heard of the expression “It’s not how many times you fail, but how many times you get back up”? This correlates directly to a person who is willing to grow, fail and get back up and try again; both your fitness journey, and forming new nutrition habits will experience failure many times. Failure is normal and an important process in becoming the person you strive to be, don’t be scared of it. We are here to help you time and time again get back up and try again.

Secondly, at the end of the day you are in the driver’s seat.

Your efforts and attitudes will determine your progress in anything in life, not just your health and PRS in the gym. You must work on putting yourself in positive environments that encourage and teach change, challenge you and most importantly support you and your mission. Just because something doesn’t click in 1 day, 1 week or even sometimes 1 year, doesn’t mean you’re a failure and you should give up. Possibly you need to do some reflecting and take a close look at plan A and tweak it and try again. We often see this issue arise in the world of Nutrition, you have a bad weekend go off the rails a bit and then just say ffff*ck it this is hard. Some extreme measure usually follows, or you blame someone else for your actions. Instead next time try this: you had a tough few days, take a look at your environment (where were you when things took a turn, who were you with, what were you doing?) How can I set myself up differently next time I am in this scenario, can it be avoided, could I have planned better, and most importantly, Tomorrow is a new day, get back on the horse and keep trotting forward. YOU GOT THIS.

Nothing worth having ever comes easy, but we can promise if you stick it out and don’t give up on yourself the rewards will last a lifetime.
